Meetup Group

Science Of Mind Cville has a Meetup group!

You can find it at
https://www.meetup.com/Charlottesville-Science-of-Mind-Discussion-Meetup-Group/
We will post when we are meeting on the Meetup group, as well as other events like the Four Agreements workshop (June 15 2019). If you “do” Meetup, it can be a good way to keep up-to-date on when our meetings and other events are taking place. It also helps promote the group! We publish notices as well on this website – look for the “News” articles.  The latest 3 posts are shown on the front page, or you can see older posts on the “News” page.

Email Echos

Note: If you are subscribed to the SOMCville announce email list (subscribe here), and you join the SOMCville meetup group, you may get two emails – one from the email list – a Google group; and one from Meetup.  This is because we have the google group emails forwarded to the Meetup announce so that we only have to send once to update all the bases – email list, website, Facebook, and Meetup.

You can turn off the Meetup emails – and thereby only get one email notice – very easily, as follows:

  1. On the Meetup home page, click the little round profile picture at the upper right corner.  That will drop down the Profile menu.
  2. Click on “Settings”
  3. Next, click on “Email Updates” in the left menu column.
  4.  Scroll down to the “Updates about your groups” section.  Then in that section, find the Science of Mind Charlottesville, Discussion Meetup Group.  Click the “Edit” link to the right of the group.
  5.  On the “Email Updates” page, scroll down to find the “Mailing list messages”.  Set the drop-down list at right to “Never”  The setting takes effect immediately, there is no “save” button to click.

Voila!  You will no longer receive notices from Meetup about the SOMCville group.  Note that by doing this you will still get updates from the Meetup group – you just won’t get the email announcements that are also copied to the email list.
